国本女子中学校・高等学校はカナダ・アルバータ州教育省の日本で唯一の海外認定校である「カイス」”KAIS（=Kunimoto Alberta International School）”を2020年より併設しています。本年度の入学式では、KAISの校長 Pam Arnason 氏がご挨拶をさせていただきました。

Good morning everyone. I am so grateful for the opportunity to say a quick welcome, on behalf of Kunimoto Alberta, to all of you.

What an exciting day! First day of new classes, new teachers, new memories and most importantly, new friendships. You are part of a tremendous school…a school built on the foundation of community. 

So, what is community? 

To me, community is a group of distinct individuals, each with our own stengths, histories and dreams, who come together with the common goal of helping each other become the best versions of themselves. Within these halls and this building are enthusiastic, talented and unique students who truly become family.  We cheer each other on to success but we also lift each other up and shelter one another when times are difficult.  Togetherness and community are our strengths. As part of the same team, if one of us succeeds, we all succeed. If one of us fails, we all fail. 

So, knowing this, I encourage you all to work hard, get involved and have fun but also to be curious and brave.  Find your purpose and your passion. WE have your back. You never have to feel alone because every one of us in this hall today will support you in your journey.  You are why we are here. You are our reason.  You are Kunimoto.

皆さん、おはようございます。私は、KAISを代表し、感謝の気持ちを込めて、この場にいらっしゃる皆さんへ、歓迎の言葉を述べさせていただきます。

今日は、心躍る日です。新しいクラスの初日、新しい先生、新しい思い出、そして何より、新しい友人と出会い。皆さんは、とても素晴らしい学校、コミュニティという礎の上に築かれた学校の一員となられたのです。

コミュニティとは何であると思いますか。

私にとっては、コミュニティとは、素晴らしい個性を持った人々で構成されるグループのことで、ひとりひとりに長所、歴史、夢があり、お互いに助け合いながら、今までになかった最高の自分に成長する所です。ホールや建物の中には、熱意、才能、個性にあふれた、生徒たちと教員たちが集まり、実の家族のように関わり合っています。互いが成功するように励まし合い、高め合い、困難な時には、互いに助け合う。 そのような一体感やコミュニティが、私たちの強みです。同じチームの一員として、 誰かが成功すれば、皆が成功し、 誰かが失敗すれば、皆が失敗する、という絆があるのです。

ですから、この事を気に留めていただき、皆さんには、ぜひ、一生懸命に学び、関り合い、楽しんだり、好奇心旺盛で、勇敢であってほしいと思います。 ご自分の目的、情熱を見つけてください。私たちは、皆さんを応援しています。ひとりぼっちなんて無縁です。このホールにいる私たち全員が、皆さんの人生を全力でサポートします。 皆さんがいるから、ここに私たちがいるのです。皆さんが、私たちの由縁なのです。皆さんこそが国本なのです。
