Our programs

Our Mission

The founder, Haruki Ariki, focused on human education to nurture emotions, and at the same time, one of the educational principles was to foster women who can contribute to the global society. Under these circumstances, we aim to educate girls in a new era by combining the education of girls who nurture the rich emotions of our school with the education program of Alberta, while inheriting the spirit of founding.

Alberta Program

Education of Alberta

Alberta Education
Schools in Alberta maintain a world-class educational curriculum. Evidence of its distinction can be seen in the graph at the higher. The OECD measures the academic stability and achievement of educational institutions through PISA. In the most recent 2018 survey, Alberta ranked first among Canadian provinces in both the Reading and Science sectors, with a higher score than Estonia,Which has exceptional levels of education.

Three E’s

Alberta's educational excellence is largely due to its "Three E's" philosophy introduced in 2010: "Engaged Thinker," "Ethical Citizen," and "Entrepreneurial Spirit." These goals prepare students for modern societal challenges. Unlike new reforms in Japan, Alberta has over a decade of experience in active learning and STEAM education. Its high school diplomas meet global standards, allowing graduates to attend both local universities and prestigious institutions worldwide.

Alberta Education’s accredited schools follow a common and rigorous curriculum. The province follows an excellent curriculum combined with strong assessment practices. Students in grade 9 will take provincial achievement tests (PATs) to evaluate their grade-level standards. In Grade 12 these students will then write provincial exams to obtain their Alberta high school diploma. This diploma provides students with an opportunity to enter universities throughout Canada, North America, and abroad.

In our double diploma program students learn English as a means of communication and expression. It is a dual language program. We follow a scaffolded approach with grade 7 students taking English Language Arts classes and the rest of their instruction being in Japanese. In grade 8 students are exposed to social studies, science, and math in English as well as their full English Language Arts class. Then in grade 9 students have all their core classes in English with physical education and option classes also led by qualified Alberta teachers. The goal being that students have increased English fluency by the time they enter grade 9 and are taking the complete Alberta program of studies. These classes will further support students in learning the important skills of critical and creative thinking, social literacy, numeracy, and last but not least physical literacy. The goal of this program is for students to foster teamwork and collaboration, enhance self-esteem and problem solving skills, and to deepen their understanding of living in a connected and globalized world.
